Health Insurance and TMS Therapy
NeuroStar TMS Therapy® may be covered by your health insurance plan. Some insurance plans, for example, HealthNet (MHN) and the Federal Blue Shield/Blue Cross plans, have authorized TMS therapy for treatment resistant depression. Southern California TMS Center can help determine if your plan can cover your treatment.
SoCal TMS is staffed with trained case managers to help with the reimbursement process, and we have a high success rate in getting TMS approved by major insurance companies when TMS is clinically indicated. New therapies like TMS often are not included in health insurance plans when they first become available, as it usually takes time for health insurance plans to establish coverage policies for newly approved technologies. In these cases, coverage is available on a case-by-case basis through the appeals process. Companies such as Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross, among others, have approved reimbursement for TMS at SoCal TMS in these situations. A consultation with one of our doctors can determine if your case is likely to be approved. The objective is for our staff to assist you in gaining access to TMS Therapy as quickly as possible by assisting in securing coverage and reimbursement.
